about

This song is the First Single of the second EP "Like a Black Doll" by Elle Noir.
THE DAY I DIED is the metaphor of emotional death.
It tells of a world where nothing has value anymore, which is also an inner world given by mental states like depression. My inner worlds are always autobiographical, my songs are always lived in the first person. Death, mental illness and emotional states of discomfort are central themes in my writing.

lyrics

The Day I Died
One day you will come
on my grave
and you will leave flowers
just for me.
You won't know what to say
and you will cry
and you'll never see my evil smile.

I forgot to tell you
the pain of the world is not there,
here where the sun doesn't rise nor set,
where all the bodies lie motionless
beautiful words are meaningless
like
"I love you".
It's just a dream through
my mind,
my fear of you.

One day I'll be free from all the pain
the scars on my arms will just disappear
until someone touches the fresh ground
and he'll realize it's the day I die.
